Today, the 5-day HESKODER training program began at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.

Today at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, the next training of the GESKODER educational program on the topic "Book restoration, bookbinding workshop and textile preservation" began. The training will last 30 hours, 6 hours a day, from August 25 to 29.

Training is conducted in 2 languages (Uzbek and Turkish).

The training will be conducted in 2 sessions:

Morning session: 10:00-13:00
Daytime session: 14:00-17:00

Day 1, Monday August 25, 2025

Fundamentals of restoration and conservation

Historical and cultural significance of Eastern manuscripts and traditional textile works

Causes of disruption: biological, physical, and chemical processes

Definition, scope, and ethical principles of preservation and restoration

Familiarization with existing fixed assets, measurement and analysis methods

Practice: pH measurement, light speed test, microscopic evaluation

Book restoration and conservation practice

Used for restoration and conservation
recipes
Structural features of eastern manuscripts: paper, stitching form, cover system
Analysis of types of disorders and diagnostic methods
Surface cleaning, moisture-controlled opening and restoration
Practice: repair of losses, filling in incomplete paper, restoration with Japanese paper

3rd Day, Wednesday August 27, 2025
Technique of binding and binding restoration
Traditional volume structure in East and Central Asian manuscripts
Introduction to materials: leather, cardboard, fabric, thread and colored lining paper
Classification of skin diseases and principles of correction
Practice: Revision of the cover part, restoration of the cover part, traditional weaving of calico

Day 4, Thursday August 28, 2025
Historical methods of restoration and preservation of textiles
Signs and types of violations of traditional weaving
Cleaning, stabilization, restoration, and archiving techniques

Information about natural dyes and color protection

Practice: restoration of weakened tissues with silk wool, seamless repair technique
