90th Anniversary of Academician Ahmadali Asqarov Celebrated

Today, the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan hosted a solemn event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of one of the country’s prominent scholars, renowned archaeologist and historian, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Ahmadali Asqarov.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the academic community, scholars, university professors, and young researchers. Participants highly praised Academician Ahmadali Asqarov’s enormous contribution to the development of Uzbek archaeology and historical studies, as well as his tireless efforts in researching the national history and training a new generation of specialists.

During the event, Director of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan Jannat Ismailova delivered a speech in which she emphasized the fruitful scientific activity of the academician and his invaluable services in studying the history of the Motherland. On behalf of the museum’s staff, she sincerely congratulated Ahmadali Asqarov on his 90th anniversary, wishing him good health and continued creative success.

Ahmadali Asqarov was born on 25 September 1935 in Namangan region. For many years, he conducted extensive archaeological and historical research, studying ancient urban cultures, monuments of the Bronze and Early Iron Ages, as well as issues of the ethnogenesis of the Uzbek people. He has published more than 450 scientific works, including 16 monographs, a textbook, and several methodological manuals.

His scholarly heritage serves as an important source not only in Uzbekistan but also throughout Central Asia. Since 1987, he has been a full member of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and in 1985, he was awarded the Beruni State Prize. He was also granted the honorary title of “Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan.”

Participants of the jubilee event emphasized the rich scientific legacy of Academician Ahmadali Asqarov, his outstanding contribution to the formation of the Uzbek archaeological school, and noted that the name of the distinguished scholar will hold an honorable place in the history of our nation.
