Staff of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan Took Part in an International Seminar-Training in China

From September 8 to 23, 2025, the Head of Department of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Toxir Norkobilov, together with research fellows Munira Nasriddinova, Saodat Atabekova, Muxlisa Allakova, and Amirkhoja Toirkhojaev, participated in the international seminar-training entitled “Preservation and Restoration of Immovable Cultural Heritage and the Study of Sogdian Culture within the Framework of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan Educational Program”, held at the Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology of Henan Province, People’s Republic of China.

The program was aimed at strengthening cooperation among Asian countries in the field of cultural heritage protection, conducting in-depth research on Sogdian culture along the Silk Road, and exchanging best practices in the preservation and restoration of cultural monuments.

During the seminar, participants attended theoretical and practical sessions on archaeological site protection, restoration technologies, strategies for transmitting cultural heritage to future generations, and 3D reconstruction of monuments. They also visited leading museums and scientific centers of China, including the Palace Museum (Forbidden City), the National Museum of China, the Henan Museum, the Shang Dynasty Capital Ruins Museum, the Shaolin Monastery, the city of Luoyang, the Longmen Grottoes, as well as the museums of Guangzhou and Guangdong.

The knowledge and experience gained during the trip will be applied in the museum’s activities and will contribute to further improving the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
